I have been producing and directing theater productions in a youth theater group PILKE since 2010. The plays, flash mobs, mini-plays and different acts have attracted a lot of attention in the regional area as we have been ground-breaking in our approach of customer service and audience outreach. Our theater group has been awarded several times, latest by the city of Hämeenlinna (+55,000 residents).
Our independent, yet versatile and ever-changing group has brought happiness and entertainment to people from all walks of life. At the moment more than 20 youngsters work actively in the theater to produce musicals, theater plays, videos and projects with various partners.
PILKE has been awarded many times, most recently in December 2015, when our group was awarded the recognition of ”Hämeenlinna’s Volunteer Act of The Year” (2nd place). See below the comments of the Jury (in Finnish!)
”Pienillä resursseilla toimiva, ilman mitään taustaorganisaatiota. Ja toiminta jatkunut jo kauan. Näillä perusteilla resurssit ovat tehokkaat. Laadukkuus tulee mielestäni aika ainutlaatuisesta toiminnasta eli itseilmaisusta teatterin keinoin. Nuoret tekevät nuorille ja nuorten kanssa eli tässäkin vertaisuus mukana.”
”Pilkkeen toiminnassa näkyy kaikki se, mitä itse arvostan suuresti. Ihailen intohimoista tekemistä ja Tee Se Itse -meininkiä; jollei kukaan muu järjestä, niin tehdään itse. Pilkkeen toiminta tuottaa iloa vetäjän ja mukanaolijoiden lisäksi myös yhteisölle itselleen! Respect!”
